The Idea of Progress

We have looked at many different forms of progress over the last few weeks, and this is your opportunity to bring it all together! Everything from Sir Ken Robinson's "Changing Educational Paradigms" to William Kamkwamba's "How I Harnessed the Wind", from Alan Sillitoe's "Loneliness of the Long-Distance Runner" to Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" and other documents about cloning, genetic modification and designer babies.
From The English Corner, document prepared by Pryscilla Hebel

So, bring it all together! You've chosen three or four of these documents. How do they illustrate the theme "the idea of progress"? What advantages or drawbacks to these elements of progress suggest? What should we do about them? What do you think?
